CheckOff Books

Privacy Policy

Effective September 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CheckOff Books, a Haven Lane Advisory company, collects, uses, stores, and shares information in connection with our bookkeeping services, website, client portal, and customer-support communications.

Information we collect

We may collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, business information, uploaded financial documents, support requests, and other information needed to provide bookkeeping services. We may also collect limited technical information when you use our website or portal.

How we use information

We use information to provide and improve our services, prepare requested financial reports, operate the client portal, respond to support requests, process payments, maintain security, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Customer-support messaging

CheckOff Books uses SMS only for operational customer-support workflows. Authorized support staff may receive SMS notifications when an existing client submits a support request through the secure CheckOff Books client portal. Staff may respond through the support system, and the client receives the response in the secure portal.

SMS recipients are authorized CheckOff Books support staff who provide their mobile number directly to CheckOff Books and consent to receive these operational messages as part of their support role. Message frequency varies based on client-support activity. Message and data rates may apply.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information are not sold, rented, shared, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers that process communications on our behalf solely as necessary to operate the support service and subject to applicable privacy and security obligations.

Support staff may opt out of SMS notifications by notifying CheckOff Books or by using any opt-out mechanism provided in the message workflow. Opting out may affect the ability to participate in SMS-based support coverage.

Information sharing

We may use vendors and service providers to host systems, process payments, deliver email or SMS, provide security, and support our operations. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or security, or in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Data security and retention

We use administrative, technical, and access-control measures designed to protect information. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Your choices

You may contact us to ask questions about this policy or request updates to information you have provided, subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements.
